Enjoy Loads of Splashing Fun at Orlando Water Parks

Orlando is home to the most amazing theme parks in the world, including fun and refreshing water parks that visitors of all ages will surely enjoy. This is the best way to have a refreshing time near the water here in Orlando since Central Florida does not have any beaches nearby. There are many water parks to choose from, each promising good, clean fun for families, especially children. Take your pick from some of Orlando’s top water parks:

Wet ‘n Wild
6200 International Drive
Orlando, Florida 32819

Wet ‘n Wild opened in 1977 and is the first water park in Orlando. It is often voted as the best water park in the U.S. Families love the park’s world-class attractions and quality service. Wet ‘n Wild’s multi-passenger tube rides keep families coming back for more. Among the newest rides on the park include Brain Wash, a group ride that lets you go through an extreme tube ride highlighted with the 53-foot vertical drop. Another ride is called Disco H20, where you will board a four-passenger tube for a funky 70s disco-themed ride. The experience is complete with disco balls, colored lights and groovy 70s music.

SeaWorld’s Aquatica
5800 Water Play Way
Orlando, FL 32821

Aquatica is known for housing some of the most action-packed water rides in the world. It is also provides a peaceful nature experience through its lush landscapes, tropical setting and animal experiences. Make sure to try Commerson’s Dolphins Slides, the park’s signature attraction. You will plunge down clear tubes that are 300-feet high into a beautiful blue lagoon, where you will see the adorable Commerson’s dolphins. For those who want a faster adventure, try Adventure River, where you will zip through more than a thousand feet of wild rapids and pass by waterfalls and geysers. The water here is three times faster than the flow of a typical park river.

Blizzard Beach
1500 W Buena Vista Dr (Osceola Parkway)
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

The creation of Blizzard Beach has an interesting story behind it. The place was originally a ski resort which was built years ago after a freak winter storm hit Florida, covering the western part of the Walt Disney World property with snow. The company immediately made plans to build the first snow-ski resort in the state. The plan did not push through when the temperature went back to normal and the snow started to melt. The area was turned into a ski resort and water adventure park. Do not miss exciting attractions such as the Downhill Double Dipper, a 50 feet high, 200 feet long slide of twists and turns where you can slide for as fast as 25 mph. Another must try is the Summit Plummet, where you can ride in a tower which “ski jumps at the speed of 60mph straight down to a spectacular splash at the base of the mountain.

Teamboat Springs is a great ride for families and groups of friends. Six passengers will ride on rafts which will take them on a white-water raft ride down rushing water falls that are 1,200 feet high.
